Caren Cao goes for a slam dunk with Network Of Women in Basketball

For lifelong baller Caren Cao, playing in a co-ed basketball league wasn’t much fun. Cao realized she was only invited to join because the game required at least two female players on each team. But she says the team captain didn’t seem too interested in involving them in plays. “There was a lack of trust and teamwork.”

So, she began searching for other female basketball players in the GTA, a mission that led to her founding Network Of Women in Basketball, or NOW Basketball, an organization with hundreds of members and a goal to create an inclusive and accessible environment for women’s basketball.
